Cinderella Ballet
The two of us went to the NJ Ballet performance of Cinderella at the Raritan Valley Comm College today. It was cute - she really loved the costumes, sparkles, and the dancing on point. We noted the corps de ballet in the ballroom scene, and how the prince and Cinderella did a pas de deux. At one point the Prince danced with two girls - and she asked me, 'what does it mean when there are 3?" And I said, I guess it would be a pas de trois - I looked it up - it is. But then my Mom and I joked it also means the Prince has his hands full. :)

Today in school my daughter learned ways to make the Earth better. She suggested we give the Earth a really good clean-up. Then at dinner she told me that planting a tree would be a good way to help the Earth.

What day is Daddy's birthday?
So as we were going to bed, my husband was discussing birthdays with our daughter. Since the weekend was my birthday, he asked her in what month is Daddy's birthday. She delayed so we prompted her with, "February, March, Apr___" and she said, "April!" and then Daddy asked her on what day is Daddy's birthday. She then quickly and brightly said, "ah, Tuesday!" We laughed SOOO hard. She wasn't quite sure why we laughed so hard, but we all had a fun chuckle over this.

My birthday
Today was like other Saturdays - I took my little girl to ballet class, and then we went to the hardware store to get paint samples for her soon-to-be new room and the bathroom, and then we went to Trader Joe's. On our way out of TJ's I had 2 bags, one in each hand, and asked her to hold my arm as we went to the car across the parking lot. She then said, "it's like I'm the princess and you're the prince." :) How, at 4, kids notice such details is so amazing - brides and grooms, princes and princesses arm in arm. It's so sweet. Then we enjoyed a lovely dinner out at our favorite bistro. It was a lovely day and evening.

She was "a huge help at calendar today! Our new friend was a little sad and needed to sit on [her teacher's] lap, so I asked [her] to do calendar - and she made sure she showed Toku each card and made her really a part of circle! Thank you!"

At lunch, her class discussed taking nice size bites when eating. My daughter explained that her Daddy can take big bites because he has a really big mouth, her mommy has a medium mouth, the baby's will be tiny and hers is small. Her teacher was impressed at her grasp of size comparisons.

Today at daycare
My daughter told her teacher that the guest room will be her new room, Mommy is decorating it and as long as it's pretty and princess-y that she'll sleep there. :) She told me tonight pink and purple... tall order. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet but we'll see.

Today at daycare
The teacher read "Sticky Stanley" - one of our gifts to her - at circle time. She told the kids that she used to read this book when she was a little girl, and my daughter said, "Wow!" which made the teacher laugh. :)
